Refund policy

Overview
At SPOTLESS HAUS, we stand by the premium quality of our modern home tech and smart utility products. This policy outlines your rights and our procedures regarding returns and refunds, fully aligned with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).
1. Change of Mind / "Cooling-Off" Period
In accordance with Section 44 of the ECTA, you are entitled to cancel your purchase and return your product for any reason within 7 days of receiving the item.
To qualify for a change-of-mind return, the following conditions must be strictly met:
 Timeline: You must notify us in writing within 7 calendar days of delivery.
 Condition: The item must be completely unused, unaltered, and in the exact same condition that you received it.
 Packaging: The product must be returned in its original, unopened packaging with all seals, protective plastics, and accessories intact.
 Return Shipping Costs: In accordance with the law, the customer is entirely responsible for the direct cost and risk of shipping the item back to us. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Note: Any change-of-mind request made after 7 calendar days from delivery will strictly not be accepted, as there is no general right of return under South African law for a change of heart after this period.
2. Defective, Damaged, or Faulty Goods
Every high-end gadget sold by SPOTLESS HAUS is backed by an automatic 6-month statutory implied warranty of quality under Section 56 of the CPA. If your product fails to work, arrives damaged, or develops a manufacturing defect within 6 months of delivery, you have the right to request your choice of:
1. A full cash/electronic refund.
2. A brand-new replacement item.
3. A product repair.
Store Protection & Verification Protocol:
To protect our store against user-inflicted damage or fraudulent claims, all defect claims are subject to the following verification process:
 Mandatory Digital Proof: Before any return is authorized, you must email our support team clear photographic and video evidence demonstrating the alleged fault or defect.
 Assessment: SPOTLESS HAUS reserves the right to have the item physically or digitally inspected by our technical team to determine the root cause of the failure.
 Exclusions: This warranty strictly does not cover faults arising from normal wear and tear, intentional neglect, user negligence, accidental drops, water damage (outside the product's rated water resistance limits), or failure to follow the manufacturer’s product instructions.
 Shipping Costs for Verified Defects: If the defect is verified as a legitimate manufacturing flaw, SPOTLESS HAUS will cover the collection and shipping costs to return or replace the item.
3. Strict Return Process
To ensure your return is processed, you must follow our step-by-step authorization channel:
1. Request a Return: Do not send items back to the origin address on the shipping label. Email our customer support email address with your proof of purchase, order number, and a description of the issue.
2. Receive Authorization: If approved, our support team will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number along with our designated South African return depot address.
3. Package and Ship: Securely package the item. For change-of-mind returns, write your RMA number clearly on the outer shipping box and send it via a trackable courier service.
Warning: Any packages sent to our return address without a pre-approved RMA number will be rejected at the depot and returned to the sender at their own expense.
4. Refund Processing Timelines
Once your returned package is received and inspected at our local facility:
 We will notify you via email that we have received your item and inform you whether your refund has been approved or rejected based on its condition.
 Approved refunds will be processed via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) back into your original payment method or bank account.
 In accordance with South African law, authorized refunds will be paid out within 30 days of the date of cancellation.
